The grave of Private James Patterson of Company A. He is buried in Section Q Lot 28-29 Grave 1, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia. In 1864 he was transfered to the 82nd Pennsylvania Company F. He died on June 3rd 1907 at his home at 1340 Parrish St., Philadelphia. He was 77 Years old.
The grave of Private James Quinn of Company A, 3 months Volunteers. He is buried in Section 3 Lot 301 Grave 1, at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia. He died on November 12, 1918 at his home at 2642 Douglass St., Philadelphia. He was 84 Years old.
Grave of General John Hoffman. He got his start as Captain of Company E of the 23rd PA Three Months Volunteers. He later went on to become Col. of the 56th PA and then was Breveted a Brig. General. He died on March 14th 1902 at his home at 865 N. 25th St in Philadelphia. He was buried at Laurel Hill Cemetery on March 17th in Sec. C Lot 63 Grave 1.
The Grave of Captain John B. Fassitt of Company F 23rd Pennsylvania. Born October 26th 1836 in Philadelphia. Originally a member of The Philadelphia City Calvary he was trasfered to the 23rd PA on August 2nd 1861. He won the Congressional Medal of Honor at Gettysburg G for assisting in the recapture of a battery that had been lost to the rebels. At the Time he was detached from his regiment. He died in NYC on January 18th 1905 and is buried in Sec. 9 Lot 1323 Plot Spring LAke at Woodlawn Cemetery in the Bronx, NY.
Grave of Pvt William Duncan of Company F,23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves." He was mustered in August 1st 1861, transfered to the 82nd PA Company H on 4/26/1863 and then wounded at Cold Harbor. He died on November 22nd 1932. He is buried at Hatboro Cemetery in Hatboro PA in Section B,lot 237. His headstone is missing but his wife's is still there. A flag marks his burial spot.
Grave of Private John Moffitt of Company F. 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, "Birney's Zouaves". John was born in 1842. He lived in Pittsburgh out the outbreak of the War working in his father's grocery. He enlisted on August 1st 1861. He was mustered out of service on September 8th 1864. He returned to Pittsburg where he died in 1905. For nearly 100 years he was buried in an unmarked grave next to the family oblisk until 2004 when Frank P. Marrone Jr. and Veterans Administration provided a new Headstone. Rest in Peace John!
