The Grave of Private Edward Garvin of Company R, 23rd PA Volunteers. He was Killed in action at Ft. Stevens, Washington D.C. on July 12th 1864. He is buried at Battleground National Cemetery in Washington D.C. He is buried in Grave 11.
The Grave of Musician James K. Millman of Company K, 23rd PA Volunteers. He was mustered in on August 6th 1861 as a Drummer. He was transfered to Company H, 82nd PA until April 1865.He is buried in Togus National Cemetery, Togus Maine in Section A, Site 2980.
The Grave of Corporal Adam B. Johnston Company E , 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers, also known by their nickname, “Birney’s Zouaves”. He was mustered in service at the Skuykill Arsenal on August 14th 1861. On September 8th 1861, he moved with the Regiment to Washington D.C, where he was encamped just three miles north of the Capitol on “The Queen’s Farm” at Camp Graham . He was there with the Regiment during the cold winter months and in December of 1861; Typhoid Fever broke out within the Camp which resulted in the Death of Fifty-One men of the 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. It was decided on March 12th 1862 to move the camp to higher ground in Bladensburg, Maryland to rid the epidemic and ready the Soldiers for campaign. The 23rd Pennsylvania moved to Bladensburg and were encamped at Camp Clark . Adam B. Johnston was Wounded at The Battle of Cold Harbor Virginia on June 1st 1864, near Richmond. On September 8th 1864, he reenlisted as a Veteran volunteers and was transferred to the 82nd Pennsylvania, Company E. He was Promoted to Corporal on January 31st 1865. He was mustered out of Service on July 13th 1865 at Mars Hill Virginia. He is buried at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Philadelphia in Section 144, Lot 279, Grave 1.

The Grave of Private Joseph Atkinson, Company A, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. He is buried at Leverington Cemetery in Roxborough, PA. He is buried just before the G.A.R. Monument to the left.
Grave of Captain Francis "Frank" Granello of Company I, 23rd Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was mustered into service on August 13th 1861 at the Arsenal in Philadelphia. He was striken with Typhiod while at Camp Graham in Washington D.C. in the Winter of 61 and remained in bad shape, too ill to serve. He resigned his commishion on January 23rd 1862. After the war he regained his health and moved to Michagan where he became a devout Christian. He died on March 23rd 1918. He was buried at Valley City Cemetery in Gran Rapids, Michagan. Oakhill Cemetery would later surround Valley City Cemetery. Francis is buried in Section K in the Old Valley Hill Section South of Hall Street.
