Dick Charles was the psuedonymn of both Richard Charles Krieg and Richard Charles Waldspurger. Both were known as brillant minds in the New York music industry. Their combined careers could be summed up in three parts - COMPOSER, RECORDER, and MASTER


DICK CHARLES - THE COMPOSER

Dick Charles was a prolific composer of music during the 1940s and 50s. He was perhaps best known for "Along the Navajo Trail," which was used in the movie of the same name. However, he composed far more than that classic Western song.

DICK CHARLES RECORDING

By the 1950s, Dick Charles had opened a recording studio on Seventh Avenue in New York City, a block away from Broadway. It was here that a good number of demos of up and coming stars were cut before the stars were signed by the big record labels. Here, both Dick Charles (Richard Krieg and Richard Waldspurger) worked with many famous and not quite so famous musicians and performers, such as:

By the 1980s, Dick Charles (Richard Waldspurger) was running the company, now titled Dick Charles Mastering, and was considered to be one of the best in the record industry at his work. He mastered cds for many, many groups - some good, some bad - in his career, such as:
