27th Floor Productions, the company behind the soon-coming "The Opportunity", have put a little twist into one of the most popular, and smartest, reality shows of all time: "The Mole."
If you don't know of "The Mole," here's a brief description:
A group of strangers must work together to earn money; however, one of the players is a saboteur hired by the producers to stop the players from succeeding. To stay in the game, the players must be able to pass "The Quiz," a questionnaire based on the "Mole." The player who scores the lowest on the quiz is "executed" and must leave the game immediately. The process continues until you're left with three players: (1) The final victim, (2) The winner, and (3) The Mole.
We at 27th Floor Productions wanted to use this concept. However, to stay in tune with copyright laws as closely as possible, we must change something to make it original. That's where the idea came in. Instead of strangers, make it like a board game version in that everybody is from the same area, msot of them knowing each other. With such a lasting trust, the game would become more difficult since, in this game, you can't trust anybody.
We are almost finished writing the game and want to begin getting contestants. We are prepared to produce one full "season," if you will, but are considering creating more. The only thing restricting us now is the fact that we have only written one season of games. If the first "season" proves to be a success for everybody, we will continue writing episodes for later dates.
One final thing before we continue. This production, as are all of our productions, is a fundraiser. There is no ownership implied, and we are not trying to infringe the copyright laws. 27th Floor Productions' profits from this production go directly back into the company to continue providing this community service. We are a non-profit organization in the fact that this production, not being an original idea, will not result in a profit for the producers. Our original ideas, however, do provide such a profit. Also, we are not implying that the contestant will have to pay to become a contestant. Our fundraising method does not include a direct payment from the contestant; however, to be a contestant, the person must complete our fundraising task.
With that taken care of, let's continue.
