Exploring and Creating Art ages 8-13

Utilizing colored pencils, watercolors, acrylic paint, and mixed media, students will create art using photos, art prints, still life, and imagination.



Multi Media ages 8-18

Create 2-D and 3-D projects using paint, collage, photgraphs, papier mache, clay, and found objects and explore processes used by other artists.


Design and Renovate Your Own Home

Flamenco Dance ages 12/up
Mon: 4-6 pm
Elba Hevia Y Vaca (Please note: this is the only Flamenco dance class offered in Philadelphia)
Explore the introverted and extroverted nature of Flamenco. Learn the basic techniques of Flamenco dance. Students will perform at the end of the semester.



Pop Dancing ages 9-12
Thu: boys: 4-5pm; girls: 5-6pm
Yuri Sergeyev
Learn popular styles of street dancing, classic styles such as the Charleston, and modern dance and ballet. Mr. Sergeyev is a master teacher currently on the faculty at the University of the Arts.

Class combines the elements of spoken word poetry, music, drama, and dance, to create dramatic stories on student experiences. Public performance.

Acting and Public Speaking ages 16/20

Students will learn how to present a speech on performance before an audience, with a public performance at the end of the term.

Group Classes for beginners and anyone who wants a deeper understanding of the art of music. An introduction to harmony, tonality, and the theory behind musical styles. Mr. Kifyak is a conservatroy-trained pianist and choral director.

Hip Hop Lyrics
Tue: 3-5pm, Sat: 11am-12:30pm The Studio
Bring your own hip hop and rap lyrics to life! You will write and perform your own lyrics using instruments to create your own rap rhythms. Students will perform in public at the end of the semester.

Piano

Individual 1/2 hour instruction for all levels of students.

Beginning Drumming
Tues: 4-6pm

Students will learn basic techniques of the snare drum to apply to marching rhythms and the trap drum set. Public performance will result.
