Go to the Angelfire Web site.

Next to "New Users" at the top of the page, click "Sign Up."

Follow the directions and fill out the forms that follow.

Click on the link that says "Activate your account and start building!"

If that link doesn't work (like it didn't when I was making this instruction page) then go to the this page for some useful information.

You will need an FTP program to upload your files. There is a program that is free to educators, YES! It is called WS_FTP LE. I realize we are all adults here, and that I don't have to spell. That really is the name of the program. Click the link above to go to the download site. Scroll down and select the radio button next to "Download WS_FTP LE." Enter your email address and click on "Download Now!"

Select a location from which to download and save the file on your desktop.

After the download is complete, double click the "ws_ftple.exe" file on your desktop and follow the installation instructions.

Here is what your log on window will look like.

Fill in the information as you see it here. Of course you will need to type in your actual member name and password where the red type is in this picture.

Once you have logged in, your main window will look like this:

Use the "MkDir" button on the server side of the window to create an exact duplicate of your directories and subdirectories.

Once you have duplicated your directories and subdirectories, you are ready to copy your Web files to the server.

Transfer your HTML files by clicking on them to highlight them.

Make sure the radio button next to "ACII" is selected.

Make sure the destination directory on the server is the same as the directory of origin on your computer. If you need to move up a level out of a directory, double click on the green arrow in the upper left corner of the window.

Upload your file by clicking on the arrow in the middle that points to the left.

Transfer your image files in the same manner except make sure the radio button next to "Binary" is selected.

When all your files are uploaded, direct your browser to your site and test it out. Make sure it works before you tell people to go to it.

Once you are sure you are done, click the exit button.
