I offer affordable rates to provide lessons at a students home
in Pottstown, Boyertown and other nearby
areas of Montgomery - Berks - and Chester County
locations in Pennsylvania.

Lesson Rates:
Lessons are pay as you go on a weekly basis.
I do offer a Discount for Pre-paying by the month,
and for home lessons with more than 1 student.

They are also based on a typical 1/2 hour session

20 + years experience teaching.
I've taught drums both in a Music Studio for the past 12 years,
and privately out of my home for approximately 10 years prior to that.

Was a student for 4 years with the esteemed
Percussionist and Composer, Mr. William Schinstine of Pottstown Pa.

If you would like to verify your drums are setup and tuned properly,
a one time visit can be arranged with no obligation to take lessons.

Cancellation Policy :
24 hour notice to cancel a lesson is preferred if at all possible.

Performance Experience :
I Started playing drums at the age of 8. I Played in concert bands and marching units
during school , Then started playing out live with local bands by the age of 14.
I've Worked with a large variety of bands over the past 30 years that have covered
various styles such as country - classic rock - rhythm & blues - pop rock - oldies and jazz.
Have worked in fundraisers with local Philadelphia Tv celebrity Sally Star to raise money for her
children's fund charities. Also have had the honor of drumming with
the opening bands for country music stars Porter Wagoner and Freddy Fender.

Awards :
Marching band (unit awards) - Won first place in a New Jersey talent contest
performing a drum solo as a teenager - Have been involved in
various musical fundraisers, charities and non profit organizations.

Personal Statement :
My teaching method for beginning drummers is to establish fundamentals such as
reading music - coordination - timing, and building a solid beat .
While learning to read music is recommended for new students, its not absolutely necessary
in order to learn how to play the instrument.

For intermediate to advanced students , studies would cover areas such as playing fills and
using crash cymbals in a rhythm, as well as playing solo's and learning
techniques such as stick twirling and cross sticking.

Advanced studies would cover double bass drum to Polyrhythms and odd time signatures,
as well as rudiments for snare drum and drumset including ostinato patterns.
Ear training is also important in order to find the beat in a song and to identify style and timing .
