Recycling
The Dingman
Township residents are encouraged to recycle through the
voluntary Pike County recycling program. Items to be
recycled may be deposited in the recycling bins 24 hours
per day, 7 days a week.
What to
recycle:
Metals

Aluminum
Cans (soda cans, beer cans, etc.)

Steel
Cans (dog food cans, vegetable cans, coffee cans,
etc.

foil
NO
paint cans. No can lids unless attached to can.
Labels may be left on cans. Cans, pie tins, and foil
must be rinsed clean.
Glass

Clear
bottles and jars

Brown
bottles and jars

Green
bottles and jars
NO
mirrors, dishes, light bulbs, dishes, crystal,
ceramic, or window glass. Labels may be left on. No
bottle or jar lids. Bottles and jars must be rinsed
clean.
Plastic

Number 1
plastic bottles and jars (soda bottles, water
bottles, etc.)

Number 2
plastic bottles and jars (milk jugs, laundry
detergent bottles, shampoo bottles, etc.)
NO
bottle tops or lids. No other types of plastic (for
example # 3, # 4, etc). No #1 or #2 plastic that is
molded into anything but bottles and jars (for
example flower pots, trash cans, etc). Plastic
containers must be rinsed clean. Flatten all plastic
bottles.
Cardboard
NO
poster board boxes (for example shoe boxes, etc).
No pizza boxes. Remove all string, wire, and tape
from boxes. Flatten boxes before putting in
recycling bins.

Do
not tie up or bundle.
Magazines

Phonebooks

books, junk mail, computer paper, paper bags,
other paper, etc. Do not tie up or bundle.
Where to recycle:
Recycling containers are
conveniently located at the Dingman Township Municipal
Building on Fisher Lane. The bins are open 24 hours a
day, 7 days a week.
Because the recycling
program is a County program, Dingman Township residents
may also take their recyclables to bins in neighboring
municipalities.
Violations:
People disposing of items
not approved for recycling (see above list), leaving
items outside the bins, or otherwise violating the
recycling rules may be found in violation of State,
County and Municipal laws and may be subject to fines
and/or jail time as specified by law.
