The Pittsburgh High School for the Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA) was founded in 1979. The mission of CAPA is to provide intensive art instruction for all students through study with professional artists/educators. This, coupled with a sound scholastic foundation in a safe and nurturing environment, provides satisfaction, motivation, self-discipline, and a heightened self-esteem inspired by participation in the arts.
