Jeremiah Smith was born at Chelmsford Essex England abt 1775.  He was sentenced to 7 years transportation at Chelmsford on the 12th March 1787.  He arrived on board the convict ship "William and Ann" on the 28th August 1791.

Jeremiah is listed in the 1811 General Muster of NSW

Jeremiah married Sophia Akers (parents Thomas & Ann nee Hinchley) on the 23rd September 1811 at St Johns Parramatta, NSW.

On the 1st July 1813 he is listed on a listed as subscribing to "fund for building a court house at Sydney"

24th July 1813 - Jeremiah is "on lists of persons indebted to the Crown for livestock issued from the Government Herds and Flocks"

 15th April 1822 Jeremiah is "on lists of persons indebted for stock issued from Government Herds between 1 April 1810 and 24th July 1813.

November 1828 - living at Airds with his wife Sophia and children. 

Jeremiah died on the 1st June 1848.

Sophia died 17th July 1874.
