Eliza Jane (Sophia) SMITH, the daughter of Jeremiah Smith and
Sophia Smith née AKERS, was born at Airds, New South
Wales, on Monday 12th August 1816. She married William Blyton at St Peters, Campbelltown, New South
Wales, on Monday 15th August 1831, the marriage producing 11 children: William (1832-1906),
John (1834-1906), Charlotte (1843-dec.),
Eliza Ann (1836-dec.), Charles (1839-dec.),
George (1841-1916), Henry (1851-dec.),
James (1846-1898), Thomas (1848-dec.),
Joseph (1853-dec.) and Jeremiah (1855-dec.).
She died at Eagle Vale, Cooma, New South Wales, on Wednesday 2nd February 1870 and was buried at Christ
Church, Cooma, New South Wales, in February 1870.
William BLYTON (1804-1877), the son of
William Blyton and Charlotte Blyton née POINDER, was born at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire, England on
Wednesday 8th February 1804. He married Eliza Jane (Sophia) Smith at St Peters, Campbelltown, New South
Wales, on Monday 15th August 1831, the marriage producing 11 children: William (1832-1906),
John (1834-1906), Eliza Ann (1836-dec.),
Charles (1839-dec.), George (1841-1916),
Charlotte (1843-dec.), James (1846-1898),
Thomas (1848-dec.), Henry (1851-dec.),
Joseph (1853-dec.) and Jeremiah (1855-dec.). He
married for a second time to Susan Jackson at Christ Church, Cooma, New South
Wales, on Saturday 20th January 1872, the marriage producing three children: Mary Ann (1873-dec.),
Eliza (1875-dec.) and Robert A (1877-dec.). He died on Sunday 9th September 1877 and was buried
at Christ Church, Cooma, New South Wales, on Sunday 9th September 1877.
