First Half Recap

Team Barilar ... This team is so hot and cold it can be compared to the Pennsylvanian weather. Started out 1-1 just like every team. Got hot in week 2 winning both games, only to follow that up 4 straight losses. Only to win 2 games the following week by 15 runs in both games. Pitching hasn't been the problem, fielding hasn't been the problem, it's the damn bats. A team that was supposed to average 40 a game has trouble putting up 5 some games.

Projected 2nd half record - 8-2
Like the Pennsylvanian weather its getting hot out, so will Team Barilar. Captain Kyle Barilar has made his return back to left field and it appears to be helping him at the plate. Kory Blose and Adam Miloser are providing outstanding pitching for a supposed weak Team Barilar pitching staff. Travis Harp has been a solid player, and Mike Pride has had his bright spots.

Team Smacker ... By far the biggest surprise thus far this season. Team Smacker was picked to finished in the bottom 2 by nearly everyone. The biggest reason why Team Smacker is tearing it up this season has to be because of the sticks. Marc Lantz is just totally ripping it up, and Kyle Means has found his club (probably because he never bats for the varsity baseball team). After starting out 1-1, Team Smacker turned on the after burners and haven't looked back by putting up a 7 game winning streak.

Projected 2nd half record - 6-4
After watching the meltdown against Team Walker, it's hard for me to see this team repeating their dominant performance. Even though they have a huge lead and will probably maintain it through the rest of the season, something just seems to be missing after that game. First half MVP Marc Lantz just picked up and left because of the disgust of his team's performance. With good reason however, for the few that were left, Team Smacker blew a 12-0 lead to lose to Team Walker, who was playing with TREE. However, Marc Lantz and Kyle Means sticks and Adam Beveridge's pitching should prove futile down the stretch.

Team Walker ... There's not much to say about this team. Joey Troupe hits a lot of home runs, but when you only have 3 guys show for your team, and one of them is Tree, you can't expect to win. Ronnie Walker has turned it on as of late and I expect them to make a charge in the upcoming weeks (that is if they can get a full team there). There's really no one else worth mentioning cause no one else seems to show up for Team Walker.

Projected 2nd half record - 4-6
Because this team has two of the best players in the league I give them a chance to almost go .500 in the 2nd half. Hell, they could do even better if their players would ever show up. The thing is though if Troupe and Walker hit a slump, 4-6 could turn into 0-10 real quick. Team Walker is also in desperate need of a #2 starter. Troupe hasn't had it this year, and no one else has ever pitched. It looks like it'll be trial and error from here on out.

Team Guidash ... Let's see.. Their fielding is horrid but they can hit a lot of home runs. AJ Gillung cranks the hell out of the ball, and David Zimmerman has shown signs of being brilliant. Too bad that his lack of effort shows up more than his bright spots. Matt Dinger continues to play solid for Team Guidash - hitting and pitching.

Projected 2nd half record - 2-8
Team Guidash is like the Mavericks, they almost have to outscore you to win, because their defense eats a huge dick, and their pitching isn't all that great either. Dustin Guidash has to get his thumbs out of his ass and start playing if this team doesn't want to be the laughing stock of the AWBL. His stats are mediocre for being a captain, he needs to step it up, even more so than Barilar.
