Team Barilar embarrasses Team Guidash in blowout victory
Team Barilar 17
Team Guidash 5
 by Turd Ferguson
IIn a game that was out of hand from the beginning, Team Barilar laid the smackdown on Team Guidash which by the end of the game showed very little effor in this embarassing loss
Kyle Barilar hit a triple to start the game and scored on a Kory Blose groundout. Travis Harp held Team Guidash scoreless in the bottom of the first to make the game 1-0 after one inning. After a Travis Harp flyout to lead off the second inning, Kory Blose hit a two-run homerun after a Barilar double, and Harp hit a two-run homerun after a Miloser single to extend the lead to five. After two singles by Blose and Barilar, Miloser ended the inning with a groundout.
Team Guidash showed some heart in the bottom of the second scoring two runs on two homeruns by Matt Dinger and Andy Divelbiss. A Guidash single was followed by a Dinger groundout to end the inning. Up three, Team Barilar scored three runs in the top of the third on a Harp solo shot and a Miloser two-run shot driving in Barilar. Harp pitched a hitless bottom of the third to quiet Team Guidash.
Up six, Team Barilar was held scoreless despite a Blose triple. Team Guidash managed one run in the bottom of the fourth on an A.J. Gillung solo blast. The fifth inning was quiet as well as the only run came on a triple by Kory Blose driving in Barilar. Harp shut out Team Guidash in the bottom of the fifth to keep the lead at six.
Team Barilar put the game completely out of reach in the top of the sixth on a seven run explosion unlike any seen this year. After a Travis Harp groundout, the fireworks began. Kyle Barilar, Kory, Blose, and Adam Miloser hit back to back to back homeruns. Harp tripled, and was driven in by a Barilar single. Barilar was driven in by a Blose two-run homeerun which was followed by a Miloser solo shot. Guidash came in for relief in the middle of the fireworks but did not damage. Divelbiss got Harp to groundout to end the inning with Team Guidash down by thirteen runs.
Team Guidash was retired without a hit in the bottom of the sixth. Team Barilar’s efforts to 15-run rule Team Guidash fell just short after a Harp groundout with Blose on second. Team Guidash went into the bottom of the seventh down by fourteen. Dinger got the inning started well with a triple and scored on a two-run homerun by Andy Divelbiss. Down twelve, Zimmerman tripled to keep the game alive, but was followed by a Dinger groundout which ended the game and earned Team Barilar their second win of the day.
This was the most lopsided game thus far this season. Team Guidash used three pitchers, the most in a game so far. Harp went the distance for the victory. Team Barilar hit the first back to back to back homeruns of the year in the top of the sixth. Guidash gave up four runs and retired no batters during the explosions of the sixth inning.
