Beverly Zimmerman, 55, of East End Towers on Scott Street in Wilkes-Barre, died Tuesday at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Lynford P. and Marion M. (Carr) Siglin. She attended Coughlin High School in Wilkes-Barre.

She had been employed in the shoe manufacturing industry, working for Heavenly Shoe Co., Penn-Mode Co., Faith Shoe Co. and Frye Boot Co., retiring in 1979 because of ill health.

She had been a member of the Salvation Army in Wilkes-Barre and had been active in the Home League, Songsters and Corps Cadettes for several years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Gerald: sister, Emma Duffy; and brother, the Rev. Lynford P. Siglin Jr.

Surviving are her daughters, Brenda Sweeney, Wilkes-Barre; Donna Stone, Hanover Township; and Sherry Lynn Zimmerman, Newark, N.J.; six grandchildren; sister, Myra Shanko, Warrior Run; brothers, Joseph T. and Edward C., both of Wilkes-Barre; and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fairview Cemetery in Mill City. There will be no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Foundation at the Kirby Health Center in Wilkes-Barre.

Arrangements are by the H. Merritt Hughes Funeral Home, Inc., 451 N. Main St., Wilkes-Barre.
