This troop was formed many years ago in McMurray, PA. We have pictures from the 1980’s.
This troop has been involved in many things, the largest event was the canoe trip to the Minnesota Boundry Waters Wilderness Adventure in August of 1999. Since then, we have gone wall climbing, hiking, bicycling, camping at Anawanna and Heritage, and a few weeks ago we went to Moraine State Park for a weekend of sailing and canoe/kayaking.
We have held car washes, sold flowers and popcorn to support the troop and py for equipment. Many scouts helped Vic Kubany with his Eagle project to build a walking bridge in Peters Lake Park. We helped with the community clean up for Earth Day by cleaning up the stream around the VFW.
We are a very active troop and have 22 active scouts and many active adults. We enjoy all sorts of activities and are working on a variety of merit badges. We meet weekly on Mondays at the VFW on Valleybrook Rd. at 7:30 till 9:30 pm. Our troop is sponsored by the VFW and is led by Mr. Walt Jarosh, our scoutmaster.
