SEPTA's 40-Foot Low Floor Transit Buses

Manufactured By New Flyer of America, Incorporated

Three hundred (300) 40-foot transit buses have been ordered from New Flyer of America for service on selected City and Suburban fixed routes. These buses are replacing 40-foot buses built between 1984 and 1986. The purchase of these buses will allow SEPTA to better respond to ridership demand and changing route characteristics. Buses are delivered between now and December 2003. The first batch is to be completed this month; the second batch will arrive in Spring 2002; the final batch will arrive in late 2003.
