RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING
JUNE 27, 2009
The meeting was called to
order at 10AM by Vinnie Settepani. Co-chairpersons Terry Cucciniello and
Richard Rose were also present. There were 29 additional members of good
standing in attendance. The meeting was started with the Pledge to the Flag.
Minutes of the last meeting were not available. The Treasurers report, checking
- $10,663.67, petty cash - $251.29 and the CD - $5,000.00. As Richard Rose will
be stepping down in September, Anne Marie Madison will be taking his place. It
was established that it will not conflict with her position on CRC.
Old Business - The
Fathers Day BBQ made a profit of $261.47.
This included the 50/50. The Memorial Bingo also did well. A profit of
$930.31 was made.
New Business - A new ice
chest for the clams for the 4th picnic was purchased, also 20 new
pitchers for beer. The tap for the beer is missing, a new one will be
purchased. The price for a pitcher of beer will be $5.00 along with a $5.00
deposit on the pitcher. and a cup will cost $1.50. The food purchases will be
600 hot dogs, 500 hamburgers, 200 ears of corn, 60 lbs of sausage, 2 bushels of
peppers and a 50lb bag of onions. 4 kegs of beer will also be ordered. John
Soutar will look up the amount of butter needed for the clams and the corn.
$2000.00 start up money was distributed as needed.
Friday at 10AM at the MCH
volunteers will be cooking sausage and cutting up peppers and onions. They will
also be cleaning and bagging clams. At 3PM on Friday the tent committee will
put up the tents. Ice is being bagged already. There will be trash cans around
the service areas and a dumpster will be available. Also Port-a-Potties.
Set up for service areas is
at 9AM on Saturday morning. Prices are Hamburgers $2.50 plain and with cheese,
Hot dogs $1.50, Sausage and Peppers $4.00, Clams $4.00 a bag, Corn $1.25 and
Zeppoles $5.00 for 12 and $6.00 for 3. Soda, ice-cream and F.Fries will be sold
at the refreshment stand.
The Flea Market will be held
on July 25th, with a rain date on Sunday the 26th.
Recreation will purchase a spot at the flea market for the Lakeville Sub
Station here in WLE. They will be selling t-shirts.
The Luau will also be on July
25th, 2009. Tickets are on sale at the office, they are $18.00 per
person. Food will consist of
roasted pig and chicken with salads. Cut off date is July 18th,
2009. If it rains the Luau will take place at the MCH.
Terry C. informed us that 36
children attended the swimming lessons.
Al Whitney made a motion to adjourn
and is was seconded by Peggy Kostyschyn.
Our next meeting is on July
11th, at 10AM at the Adult Lodge.
