RECREATION COMMITTEE MEETING

OCTOBER 10, 2009

 

Vinnie Settepani called the meeting to order at 10AM. There were 25 members of good standing in attendance. The meeting started with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted with one correction. Pat Mongalieri not Peggy Kostyshyn will co-chair the New Years Eve Party.  We have in the Treasury, $5000.00 in a CD, 17,217.99 in the checking account and $251.29 in Petty Cash.

 

Old Business - The Adult Scary Movie was cancelled as no tickets were purchased. We need some new supplies, such as a new steamer for clams. Terry will look into E-bay or Craig’s list for prices for new or used. A new tent is needed and a new cover for one. Also for the kitchen at the MCH we need new stainless steel chaffing pans and new oven racks.

 

New Business - Kathy Sollenne is planning a bus trip to New York to see the Circ de Solle on 12/16/09. Approximate price of the tickets with the bus and the continental breakfast is $94.50 for orchestra and $69.50 for mezzanine. She is also looking into eating in New York at the Jeckle & Hyde Restaurant. Prices to follow. There will be a hay ride on October 17th, at l PM starting at the MCH. In November open mic night at Beaver Lodge from 7-9PM, adults only. Also on November 21 at the MCH there will be a wine and cheese party. This will start at 7PM. Tickets are needed, cost is $1.00.The Childrens Christmas Party will take place on 12/5/09 at the MCH. It will be Lunch with Santa. The menu is chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. Lynn Tedesco will have crafts for the kids. A new Santa Suit is needed. The Adult Lodge will be decorated on 12/3/09 and the MCH on 12/4/09. Kathy Sollenne has a new idea for next year Columbus Weekend. She would like to have a Fall Festival. This would include creepy crafts, scarecrow building, a hot air balloon, pony rides for the kids, a hay ride, a baking contest and then sell the goods. Also a pumpkin patch and face painting. For the people who do crafts, tables to show their goods. Sell hot dogs, soda, etc. Prices will be decided after the September Tricky Tray. $2500.00 has been allocated. Changes to the 2010 Recreation Budget was approved.

 

Jean McGlynn made a motion to adjourn and George Olson seconded it. Our next meeting is November 14th, at 10AM at the Adult Lodge.
