D.J.  by  Davco

A few images of the D.J. systems are loading......

Welcome to the Davco D.J. reference homepage. This page is provided as a quick online reference only. Included here is only a small part of the information found in the printed 60 page D.J. Information Mailer, available for free. The D.J. Information Mailer contains background information, references, guidelines concerning Davco policies, wedding reception information, music lists and other very specific information that cannot be displayed here.

One of Davco's resort Nightclub D.J./Stage-lighting/Sound Reinforcement combinations.

Davco D.J. entertainment specializes in playing a variety of dance-oriented music for corporate and family parties where the more intrusive performer/entertainer/social director D.J. is not wanted or needed.  This includes Wedding Receptions, Birthdays, Sweet 16's, Graduations and Christenings.  Davco also plays for Teen dances, Class Reunions and other types of banquets. Davco provides an alternative for those looking for a less intrusive but still professional and friendly D.J. that avoids the impersonations, karaoke/open microphone and cheesy party games but still talks on the microphone and coordinates as needed with the customer, banquet staff and any others involved.  The volume of the sound system is also maintained at a comfortable level for family parties.

Teen dance location using larger D.J. system.         Restricted use.

The size of the D.J. system can range from the compact family party, wedding reception system pictured below..
..to the more elaborate larger system used for teen dances or large informal parties.  It all depends on the type of party and location limitations. Many banquet locations have limited space and are unsuitable for the larger lighting system requirements like rave lights which require more than the usual one electrical circuit found in most local banquet rooms.

Davco can play a variety of music. Depending on the situation Davco can play music from the 1940's to the latest dance music of 2000.  Available music includes Ballroom Dancing, Forties, Fifties, Sixties, Seventies, Eighties, Nineties, Crossover Country, Latin Dance, and danceable music from the current Mainstream Radio.  Music provided by the customer can also be played.  There are limitations however.  Davco does not allow songs with curse words or hard-core hip/hop and heavy metal "mosh" type music because it causes problems.  Since those types of music are more for the Teen audience Davco subscribes to a music service that provides the hip/hop music with the rap lyrics edited for broadcast radio. A more detailed list of music types is provded in the D.J. Information Mailer.

For wedding receptions Davco can announce the Bridal Party and announce/pace any of the requested traditions.  Each wedding is different depending on family circumstances.  Some choose to have a more informal family party and decide not to do all of the traditions like the Bouquet and Garter Toss.  In addition to background/dinner music, Davco also has Wedding Ceremony music available for those locations where the couple is getting married at the same location as the reception. More specific details are provided in the Information Mailer. Where possible, Davco tries to be flexible; even adjusting to small dance floor areas by splitting the sound system from the D.J. control position to leave more dance area or to keep the speakers from being directly in back of the bridal party.  It is important to note that the sound system should always be located near the dance floor with no tables directly in front of the speakers.

D.J. equipment is modified or upgraded every so often and the music list print-outs are updated once a month, depending on circumstances.

This is only a general information page.  The more detailed Davco D.J. Information Mailer is available by contacting Davco.
