In Memory of my father Walter "DINO" Depto

who was killed in a methane coalmine explosion

Feburary 16th, 1984

Cold and wet, Dark as night

The work is done at morning light,

Time goes slow, 1 more job remain,

A spark ignates the gas within,

Out shoots an ominius ball of flame,

The mine rumbles, and grumbles,

Fire and dust shoot through the shaft,

In a flash it's over, all gone,

no movement, no motion, not a breath,

Death came quick,

God was merciful,

He sent the angels down,

on their wings to heaven you were flown,

The anguish and tears all gone,

you are at peace in your heavenly home,

Your memories I will cherish,

Till my time has come

So i can hug my dad once more

Do not stand at my grave and weep,

I am not there, I do not sleep,

I am the gentle winds that blow.

I am the diamonds in the snow,

I am the sunlight on the ripened grain,

I am the soft warm gentle rain,

When you awaken in morning qiuiet,

I am the birds circling in flight,

I am the twinkling stars who shine at night,

I am the warm sun of mornings first light,

Do not stand at my grave and cry,

And do not mourn for me, I will never die.
