IS THE U.S. TOO EASY ON IMPARED DRIVERS?
I believe that the U.S. is way too easy on impaired drivers, but some of these are a little too much.
HERE’S WHAT THEY DO:
AUSTRALIA: Driver’s name is sent to the local newspaper and printed under the heading “He’s drunk and in jail”
MALAYSIA: Driver is jailed; and if he’s married...his wife is too!
TURKEY: Driver is taken 20 miles from town by police and forced to walk back under
police escort.
RUSSIA: Driver’s license is revoked for life.
ENGLAND: Driver is given one-year suspension and a $250 fine, coupled with jail for one year.
FRANCE: Driver loses license for three years, goes to jail for one year, and pays a $1,000 fine.
POLAND: Driver is jailed, fined and forced to attend political lectures.
BULGARIA: Driver is executed after second conviction.
AND...
EL SALVADOR: Driver’s first offense is his last; execution performed by firing squad.
Moral of the story?? DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!
