DENNIS REED ON 810 WEDO / March 19, 1976

WEDO was another suburban Pittsburgh station, also located in McKeesport. In WEDO's prime days of the 1970's, they were a force to be noticed. Remember, they are an AM station, only 1,000 watts clear channel, and best of all, A DAYLIGHT ONLY STATION. But they kicked butt in the ratings through the mid 1970's with their "SOLID GOLD" format of Oldies, mixed with newer music of the day, which they dubbed as "FUTURE GOLD". The jock on this segment, "DENNIS REED", was one of my best friends for years. As time has it, our friendship slipped away. It happens. This radio air-check is Dennis' last hour on the air at WEDO. The date on this is March 19, 1976. I left the spots in place, in their full length structure, for entertainment purposes. Some of these Pittsburgh based businesses are still around. Some are not. But the whole 10 minute air-check is very entertaining. I sampled this at a very low sampling rate, to keep downloading times down to a minimum. I don't have very much art-work for the WEDO pages here... so if anybody has any they can email me... I would greatly appreciate it. Enjoy this latest find! And one last thing... if anybody knows the whereabouts of Dennis Reed, please email me. Thanks !!!
