The Fire Chief shall be the chief administrative officer of the fire department. He should have direct control of management and direction of all volunteer members of the fire department.<
This is a very important position. He will enforce all safety rules and regulations on any emergency and will be the 3rd in charge on a fire scene with the Deputy and the Chief.
This is a supervisory position involving responsibility for directing the Ladder and Rescue company activities on the fire ground. The work is performed in accordance with the
established policies, rules, and regulations and standard operating procedures. He supervises the firefighters activities at the scene of an
emergency and checks to see that his men are properly assigned to complete the needed
task. He is in
charge of the training, drills, and all activities of his company.
He shall be in charge of all firefighters involved in the assigned operation on the
fire ground. He will be involved in assisting the Engine Company with fire supression and in charge of any rescue operations. He
will assist the engine company, if necessary, in completion of their operation.
