The fuel pump relay can be wired directly to the back of the alternator so that the pump runs stronger because it is getting more voltage. It will be running on 13.8 or more volts. I did this on a Merkur and the Wirt Meter(Air-Fuel Meter) read one more LED richer. It's an easy mod to make. Take out the fuel pump relay and bend the number 30 pole around the side and solder a 14 gauge wire to it. Then run it through the fuse box by heating up an awl with a torch and poking it through. Silicone it closed so that it doesn't let water in. Solder a connector on the other end and connect it. I also put a connector in the wire so that I can disconnect it if I want to.
