"They worship a blood religion" -Ogre, from Wake Up "Stop vivisection! Vivisect six! Six, six, six!" Ogre, Improvising during Testure, Miami Beach 1992. VIVIsectVI means vivisection is evil.

Released in 1993, this CD was produced to benefit the animal rights organization In Defense of Animals. Although track number 4 "Ode To Groovy" is credited to Skinny Puppy, the song was actually written and performed by Ogre and Dave "Rave" Ogilvie (Skinny Puppy's producer, no relation to Ogre) for this CD, Key and Goettel had nothing to do with it. This is one of the few songs where you can hear Ogre's natural singing voice (the RX song "Scarecrow" is another good example) . Ogre also wrote a thought provoking piece titled "Wake Up" for the CD booklet which explains his anti-vivisection views in a most effective way. This is the only official release of "Ode To Groovy."

"Ode To Groovy" lyrics

dog has sight feels pain sorry not quite as dumb as they seem with or without god's poor judgement screams just the same to me leave it up to government medicine speeds your life away who shot the cat in the hat to experiment is insane fetchin' bones from the government food bowl never was a dog's best friend license to kill look behind the sentient line what's alive feels the heat of the flame their fascist mask media blinds what's pervieved through the tunnel of pain through slight of hand no one reprimands the research gone astray forgotten flesh we're bottle-fed on a need-to-know basis teaching lies a little dog cries the tears of a quiet one's license to kill wisdom's race false delight to kill time and time again to doubt with neck flesh pulled back to crawl underneath the skin the corporate debt no sentiment the pain is sustained that real they preach on high morals lie in this cross-cut innocent sham what research finds as the animal dies never need a goddamn thing licesnse to kill
