arm

Compare to the signs for "long" and "muscle."

 

elbow

Compare to the sign for "poor."

 

wrist

Compare to the sign for "earth."

 

hand ----------------------------- hands

Alternately, for "hands," simply repeat the movement with the hands reversed. Compare to "slow" and "comfortable."

 

finger

 

thumb

Compare to the sign for "senior."

 

fingernail

 

fist

 

leg

This is the fingerspelled word. Note that this signer does the "G" handshape with the thumb quite separate from the other fingers -- there is variation among signers. Other signers may pat the side of the thigh with the palm of the open hand to sign "leg."

 

knee

This is fingerspelled and then signed by pointing to the knee.

 

foot

Ha, ha. Just point to your own foot.

 

joint

This also means "join" or "connect."

 

hip

Compare to the sign for "shorts."
