ONE SPECIAL NIGHT

I wait in my room

Dressed and ready to go

My mom is here with me

Tears of joy in her eyes

Thoughts going through her mind

"She's not a little girl anymore"

Then it happens

I hear the magic bell

She runs to answer it

I descend the stairs

Nervous with anticipation

I see him there

Handsome as can be

He holds his hand out to me

I take it, glad for the support

He slides the red rose on my wrist

And compliments my attire

I thank him and return the compliment

We say goodbye to my mother

And get in the shiny black car

We arrive, hand in hand

Everyone looks as we enter the room

He takes me in his arms

And we dance all night

I never felt this happy

I wish it would be this way forever

Then, the terrible happens

"Last dance" they say

I think to myself

"Does it really have to end?"

We arrive at my house

He walks me to my door

Once again

He takes me in his arms

Only, to kiss me

I feel the magic

He says to me

"Please, don't ever forget

This one special night"

I wake in the morning

Distraught to discover

It was all a magical dream
