My Tori Stori

I got the awesome opportunity of meeting the goddess herself, Tori Amos, last November 23, 1998. My friend and I left school early and drove to the Bethleham concert in time to get there for the meet and greet. We got numbers 27 and 28 (July 28 was the date of the concert before that! :-) and we waited patiently until 4 or so when we all lined up. It was a very orderly meet & greet: no pushing or shoving and everyone was very nice. My friend, Christine, and I ended up at the far right side of the barricades about the second or third row back. I couldn't see her right away (I am only 4'11'') but I could tell when she stepped off that bus. There was an incredibly presense that filled the air. She made her way over from the bus down to our side. I was afraid that she wouldn't have time to get to us but sure enough she did. I was in front of my friend (sometimes it does pay to be short!) so she came to me first and I gave her a hug (!!) and asked her to sign my Under the Pink cover which she did of course. Then my friend got a picture and something of hers signed and then she went inside. I was too overwhelmed with awe to tell her the things I now want to tell her or to request a song, but maybe next time! Here are some pictures from the meet & greet.
