Auschwitz-
I saw something on the History Channel about Auschwitz a while ago. It was pretty interesting. I stayed up until about one o' clock watching it.

At Bergen Belsen, when they got off, they were put in a long line where someone would see who could work and who could not. If you were sickly or under the age of fifteen you were sent to the Gas Chambers (they were disguised as showers). Mr. van Pels was sent to the gas chamber being the first of the Annex to die. Anne was spaired from that because she had just turned fifteen. Anne and the other females were sent to the female barracks. They would never see their father ever again. At the female barracks, they were stripped of their clothes and given rags by the Germans. They also checked their teeth for any gold fillings, which would be used to help pay for the cost of the war. Then, there heads were shaved and a number tatooed onto them. Anne cried at the sight of losing her hair, it was her favorite feature about herself. They were given a glass of water (I think) and bread for the whole barrack to live on when they got there. Anne and Margot Frank stayed together close to the door, which sent cold drafts to them.
People did anything to keep from going to Auschwitz, such as pretending they were really sick. Mrs. and Mrs. Frank were sent to Auschwitz. Shewent by train, where there was no fresh air and only room to stand. They also had little food there. Mrs. Frank did not survive Auschwitz, but Mr. Frank did.
While they were at Bergen-Belsen, Anne saw a girl that was her childhood friend Hannah. Hannah would try to get some food to Anne. I read somewhere that she tossed her cookies and the woman next to Anne got them and would not give them back (I don't know if that is true or not, I just read it somewhere).
They said that Anne had to work among the dead bodies of Jews everywhere. They were an ever-present feature to them.
Margot Frank died of typhus in Bergen-Belsen. Anne died of typhus a few weeks later. The woman who saw Anne die said that Anne knew she was going to die and that she would let Anne sleep when it was time for role call. It is said that Peter van Pels died just three days before liberation of his camp.
