Easter seems to have two meanings. One full of cute
Easter bunnys and colored eggs and chocolate rabbits.
However it seems like folks these days have forgotten
what the real meaning of Easter is and what it stands for.

Let me try to refresh and remind you of what the
other and real meaning of EASTER is.

**For God so loved the world that He gave His only
begotten Son that, whosoever believeth in Him,shall
not perish but have everlasting life.**
John 3:16

Before Jesus was crucified, he gathered with his disciples
for one last meal together. He told them of his
leaving them to join his father in heaven

Jesus was nailed upon a cross for everyone to see
a crown of throns place upon his head

As he hang there instead of being bitter and angry
said these word to his Father in Heaven

After Jesus had died he was placed in his grave and
a stone was push in front of the entrance.
It was said that on the 3rd day that he would be risen

"Why do you look for the risen among the dead? He is
not here: He has risen! Remember how He told you, while
He was still with you in Galilee? The Son of Man
must be delivered into the hands of sinful men,
be
crucified and on the third be raised again."
Then they remembered His words.
Luke 24:5-8

On the third day the women known as Mary Magnalene went
to the grave of Christ her Lord. What she found was
the stone had been rolled away and that the grave was empty.
She thought that some one has stolen his body.
She began to cry.

Then and angel appeared. The angel said to the women,
"Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking
for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not there; He has
risen, just as He said. Come and see the place
where He lay. Then go quickly and tell His disciples;
'He has risen from the dead and gone ahead of you
into Galilee.
There you will see Him'
Now I have told you."
Matthew 28:5-7

May you remember as you celebrate this Easter
The real meaning of Easter

I leave you with these words by
© *Nicholas Gordon*
The tomb of Christ is but the bed
He rested on three days.
Easter morn He rose again,
The flower of our spring.
On Him, arisen from the dead,
Must we, though flesh decays,
Bestow our faith that when we die
Our souls, like His, shall not long lie
Forsaken in our tomb.
Christ shall, with deep affection, when
He sees our soul's affliction, then
Redeem us with His pain.
In His eternal suffering
Shall we find grace enough to bring
The seed of faith to bloom.
