A Quick Goo Goo Band bio... The Goo Goo Dolls started out in 1986, and released their 1st album "Goo Goo Dolls". They original band was Johnny Rzeznik, Robby Takac, and George Tutuska. Their first 4 albums tanked. The first 4 were on Metal Blade Records. They also dropped George Tutuska from the band.In 1995, the Goos held try-outs for a new drummer. Mike Malinin then became part of the Goo Goo Dolls. With Mike, they released "A Boy Named Goo", and got their first hit "Name" off of that CD. Then, in 1998, Johnny was asked to write a song for the "City Of Angels" soundtrack. John began working on it, and wrote "Iris" in one hour. The Goo Goo Dolls fan base has changed over the past 14 years, but they still play the same great music.
