In the April newsletter we announced a program to email newsletters to members with email to save money postage costs.  So far only 5 people have signed up, saving us a grand total of $1.85 per month.  Since we have been operating in the red the last couple of years, it would help us a lot to eliminate as much postage as possible.  There are many people in the club who use email.  Please send your email address to Bernie Frick at bernard.frick@verizon.net to sign up for electronic newsletters.

At the board meeting on April 25, the website committee presented their redesign of our website (www.yorkhikingclub.com).  It was approved by the board & will be implemented within the next several months for everyone to check out.  We would like to thank the website committee (Lou & Sarah Tateosian, Jim Trautman, Gwen Loose and Bernie Frick) for an excellent job.  Their efforts required a lot of work, which we all will appreciate when the revised site is up and running.  Also approved by the board was the inclusion of phone numbers (but not email addresses) in the newsletter posted on the website.  Any hike leaders not wishing to have their phone numbers posted on the website will need to notify their activities committee chairperson for that month to have their number removed.

We welcome into membership:
William Anderson, Felton, PA
David Points, Dover, PA

The following people have hiked the required mileage and will be invited to join the club, if there are no objections within ten days:

Joan Fitzpatrick, Wrightsville, PA
Skip Newcomer, Lancaster, PA
