He received a B.A. of Science degree in Chemical Engineering in 1922, and a Master's in physics in 1924 from Johns Hopkins Univ., where he earned a doctorate in Physics in 1929. He retired in 1966 as manager of technical sales of the former New Jersey Zinc Co., Palmerton, where he worked for 44 years. Was member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Palmerton, Was an Army veteran of WWI. Was recipient of the Golden Deeds award from the Palmerton Exchange Club in 1973, and took a "best of show" trophy in 1971 from the Palmerton Camera Club.
