Charles migrated to Kentucky. He was an engineer responsible for building the Louisville Ky. Water Works near the Ohio River. There is an Historical Landmark there, and on the original plaque is the name of Charles Hermany. This information came from Marjorie Alice Almy, who was there and saw it in June of 1987. Charles and Sallie lost three sons and their youngest daughter Hetty in nine years. These were severe blows to Charles from the effects of which he never fully recovered.
