A note from the Steigerwalt Family Historian:
Welcome to the updated Family Tree! It was pointed out to me that our website was started several generations later than our printed family tree. The website now reflects our first known ancestor; I appologize if this causes any confusion. The website should now read "true" to the newest 2000 printed version.
With almost 18,000 people in our current family tree, there are two ways to search through this website:
1. Click "Descendants" and trace the tree from Johann Steigerwalt's children. This setup is similar to the family's previously published history books, but may be hard to follow unless you are familiar with your family's ancestry over the past 250 years.
2. Click "Surname list" and find your last name. Follow the links until you find your particular family's history. Please note that women are listed by their maiden name. Be patient, as the page could take several minutes to load on a phone modem.
I hope you enjoy your journey through your family's history. Please contact me with any updates or corrections. As family historian, I only organize data and share my findings with the family; it is up to you to report new births, deaths, and marriages to keep the Steigerwalt family tree up to date. I appreciate everyone's efforts and look forward to hearing from you.
The website should now be up to date with all of 2006's corrections, deaths and births and everything I have received as of July 16, 2007. Please let me know if I have missed anything!
