Boy Scout Troop 30 awarded the highest rank in boy scouting, the rank of Eagle Scout, to the following members: Matthew Potocki, John Shlegle, Kevin Suyo, Paul Yeager. Potocki’s project was to refurbished a cramped storage room for the St. John’s Church Choir and turn it into a work area for the choir director and members. Shlegle’s project involved organizing and running a book drive where he collected over 1,500 new and used books to donate to Westend Neighborhood, which allowed the center or start a library. Suyo’s project organized a choral concert of South African music, featuring the Keystone State Boychoir of Philadelphia and raised money for the purchase of a sound system for a High School in Kimberley, South Africa, and also organized a clothing drive for the school. Yeager’s project constructed nesting boxes for the Washington Crossing Wildflower Preserve and worked with the Audubon Society to ensure the success of the project and to develop a plan for annual maintenance of the boxes.
