Peaceful's Lair...AND IMMORTAL LIFE GOES ON...It was shortly after my Sire had gone out into the sun and destroyed himself that I left his old castle in Paris and began to wander..By night I walked on in silence, by day I hid from the sun under the cool soil. I fed frequently, as one must in the earlier decades, but I longed for companionship. I saw no others like myself, I'd supposed that they did not wish to show themselves to a fledgling, abandoned and depressed... I did not care about my appearance, my ivory white skin remained streaked with soil and grime, my hair stringy and dull, clothing torn and ragged. One night deep into a forest, I spied a bright shimmering orb of light among the shadows of the trees. Curious, I crept towards it, seeing noone in sight. I stared at it at first, and realized it was not like the sun, and could not harm me. It appeared so tangible to me, that I reached out a tentative hand to touch it. Once I made contact with it, I felt a strong pulling and in a flash of brightness found myself torn into another place, where the orb vanished behind me. Staring about, scared witless, I realized with horror that I was now in some other, unknown place....

Gleam of fang, whisper of silk |
In shadows I see faces, |
Beaten and bloody,I narrowly escaped an attack by a crew of thugs who hoped to make me their next meal. Struggling onward, I found a secluded area to hide in safely where I could heal up. Once my wounds were gone, and no scar remained, I decided to explore what seemed to be my new home, and came upon a lake.... Wary of anyone around me, but still eager for a friendly face, I found myself in conversation with a woman who called herself Sianna, and her friends that were with her, Jonas and Jaguar. They all seemed rather friendly, and I sensed no danger from them. Slowly, I began to relax, and found myself again and again drawn to that lake, drawn to the new friends I had made, and quite enamored by the one called Jaguar... As my new life progressed, we all became closer, and very trusting of each other, and soon a household was bourne. Our small family-like group grew with time, and expanded as more joined us. As our numbers swelled to more than that of only a household, we all, with the help of our newly-joined members, strived to give life to what is now known as the Ascension Conclave..
