Microsoft Photo Editor Microsoft Photo Editor is a program that's used to edit images. Although it has limited capabilities compared with a program like Paint Shop Pro, one advantage to MS Photo Editor is that it works hand in hand with other MS Office programs.

NOTE 1: The Microsoft Photo Editor is installed only with Microsoft Office 97 and the stand-alone versions of Microsoft Word 97 or Microsoft PowerPoint 97. The Microsoft Photo Editor is not available in the stand-alone versions of Microsoft Excel 97, Microsoft Access 97, or as part of the Microsoft Office 97 ValuPack. This behavior differs from early marketing advertisements that indicate that the Microsoft Photo Editor is available as part of the Microsoft Office ValuPack. The Microsoft Photo Editor is not part of the ValuPack.

NOTE 2: Office 2000 Premium Version includes an even more sophisticated program: PhotoDraw, which is even better than the older Photo Editor. The Standard, Small Business, and Professional Versions do NOT have PhotoDraw. You may use this instead of Office 97's Photo Editor.

NOTE 3: If you have some other graphics program that can crop, resize, sharpen, blur, change hues, and convert a graphic file AND you know how to use it then you do not really need to get MS Photo Editor or MS PhotoDraw.
