Beanie Babies Hang Tags

First Generation

This red heart tag edged in gold does not open. It was introduced in 1994 & has a small, skinny "ty" also edged in gold on the front. On the back it includes: The Beanie Babies Collection (underlined), the name of the Beanie, style number, copyright symbol, Ty Inc. Oakbrook IL.USA, "All Rights Reserved", "Caution: Remove this tag before giving toy to child. For ages 5 & up". Some were handmade in Korea & some China, also has the words "Surface Wash". First gen. hang tags came on only Beanies with first gen. tush tags dated 1993.

Second Generation

This hang tag was introduced in the spring of 1994, the front looks the same, but it is a locket style tag that opens. There is three different second generation tags. The inside left looks alot like the back of a first gen. tag, this side designates where the Beanie was meant to be distributed (1. North America, 2. UK, 3. Germany). Also, the age for a child is changed to 3 & up. The inside right of the tag has the Beanies name with the TM after it, style number, "to_____ & from____ with love". The back of tag has a bar code and "Retain Tag For Reference, also a different font (type). Second gen. hang tags came on Beanies with first gen tush tags dated 1993.
Third Generation
This tag was introduced in the spring of 1995. The "ty" on the front is enlarged & more rounded. The whole tag is a more rounded heart shape. The inside left of tag is the same, the inside right has the same Beanie name, style number, & "to_____ & from_____ with love". The back of tag is also the same as second gen. tags. Third gen. hang tags came on Beanies with first gen. tush tags dated 1993 & 1995, also second gen. tush tags dated 1993, & 1995. There is four different hang tags in the third generation.
Fourth Generation
This tag was introduced in the spring of 1996. The "ty" on the front is no longer outlined. The "y" is a little lower, & a yellow star with the words "BEANIE ORIGINAL BABY" is added to the upper right of the tag. The inside left of the tag now has a TM after the word Babies. Ty Canada, Ty UK, & Ty Deutschland addresses were added. Gone are the "All Rights Reserved", the caution, , & "Surface Wash. The inside right of the tag now has the birthdate listed under the name & style number. Also, Beanie poems are intoduced along with "Visit our web page!!" & the web address, "http//www.ty.com". The back of tag says "Please remove all swing tags before giving this item to a child", "For ages 3 & up", "Surface Wash", & like previous tags, "Retain Tag For Reference". Fourth gen. hang tags came on Beanies with third gen. tush tags dated 1993, 1995, & 1996, also, fifth gen. tush tags dated 1993, 1995, & 1996. There is five different fourth generation hang tags.
Fifth Generation
This hang tag was introduced in 1998 & has the font (comic sans) on every side. The inside left of tag now has a registered mark (R in a circle) instead of the TM. On the inside right of tag the Beanie name with the TM is still there, but the style number is not. The birth date is now spelled out instead of written in numbers. "Visit our web page!!" is gone, but the address, "www.ty.com" is there. The back of tag is the same. Fifth gen. hang tags come on Beanies with sixth gen. tush tags dated 1993, 1995, 1996, 1997, & 1998. Also, seventh gen. tush tags dated 1999.
