Can you help us?

Welcome to the Donation Page of the NorthWest Pennsylvania Chapter of Afghans for Angels.

We are a volunteer organization, and can always use any help we recieve. If you would like to help, all donations can be mailed to
Afghans for angels
PO Box 71
Cooperstown, PA 16317
And to find out is we have a need for anything in particular at the time you are donating, you can contact us at afghansforangelspa@hotmail.com

Some things we are always in need of is:
soft fabric in pastel colors and baby prints (scraps are great for quilting)
sewing notions
yarn, anything soft (small amounts and scraps are fine)
crochet thread
old fasioned diaper pins
gift boxes (these are nicer than ziplock bags to send the burial layettes to the hospitals in)
finished blankets, 12 inch square and larger, can be quilted, crocheted, or knit
burial layettes from preemie sizes to large newborn

Our only guidlines for finished items is that they be soft, and that the burial layettes be in a color other than yellow, this can make the babies look jaundiced and pasty. You may donate items that are not part of a complete layette, we'll match different donations together to make layettes. If you do donate a complete burial layette, it should contain a gown or romper, a bonnet, a pair of booties, and a blanket (these do not need to be warm, lacey decorative ones work well). You may also donate store bought baby blankets, that you have decorated with appliques, or for us to decorate.

If you have an old sewing machine that you would like to donate, we would greatly appreciate this, we have some volunteers that would gladly sew for us, but cannot afford to buy a sewing machine of thier own. Most of our donated materials are used by these kind women on fixed incomes, who have the heart to help, but not the finances.

Also, if you have anything else that you think we might use, that isn't listed here, just email me, I'm always available to answer questions. Thank you for your interest in helping us comfort those in need,
