Regarding Initiation into the Cthonic Auranian OTO

Since the beginning of this year (2001) there have been many people contacting us seeking initiation. While I do feel that the time has come for the Cthonic Auranian OTO to surface more than it has in recent decades, the presence of the page and the e-mail list should not be an indication that initiation is open to all that can find the page and write an e-mail.

There are many Orders out there who will initiate anyone that fills out an application and can get two people to sign it. I feel, and beleive that the other sovereigns will agree, that the psychic potency of these orders have suffered because of such open door policy's. I dont forsee a day that the Cthonic Auranian will operate in this manner.

In general it seems that our order has one of the most difficult requirement of any order, that of having an actual relationship with one of our members. All the sovereign's initiate people differently, but speaking for myself, not only do I have to know you for a long time (counted in years)and actually be friends with you, but I must also think that you are going into this with good motivation. Those who wish to pass through the degrees of our order so that you can add to your collection of occult secrets, need not even ask - we dont have any. Thats not to say that there is not alot to learn from individual members, but there is no "order secret" that is dangled like a carrot on a stick.

Most initiations I have taken in covens and orders are done with a test to pass. They threaten that the price of failure is death, and the initiate swears solemn vows with a dagger to hir throat. Knowing that the Initiator will not REALLY kill him, this bestows a kind of pretend initiation. When I was inducted into the Cthonic Auranian I was aware of a REAL penalty for breaking my vows, that of breaking my freinds heart. I will only initiate people under the same harsh penalty.

That said, I love to meet new people and the e-mail list is open at this point. If you want to write asking questions, or want to chat or even get together and form a friendship, please write in. You dont need to be an initiate to be a friend, but you do need to be a friend to be an initiate. At least thats how it is with me. Each Soveirgn operates in thier own way.
