MY 64 BUICK ELECTRA 225

NEWS: I just had the engine rebuilt at 157,000 miles. Cost me about $2900.

BAD NEWS: 1 week after the engine rebuild, I hit a deer. Now my baby needs a hood, a grill, headlight assembly, and to top it off the whole exhaust system broke off. Its hard as hell to find these parts, but im tryin my best.

ALWAYS REFERRED TO AS "THE DUECE AND A QUARTER" THIS 1964 BUCIK ELECTRA IS A MAGNIFICENT BEAUTY. I RECENTLY WAS ABLE TO GET MY HANDS ON HER ON THURSDAY, APRIL 11, 2002. SHE(IVORY) WAS WORTH EVERY PENNY THAT I SPENT TO GET HER. I DROVE HER 350 MILES TO PA FROM DETROIT, AND BOY DOES SHE RUN LIKE A CHAMPION. SHE RUNS 10 TIMES BETTER THAN MY 1990 ESCORT.

SHE CAME 90% RESTORED, AND I PLAN ON GETTING HER UP TO 100%. 90% ORIGINAL, BUT I PLAN ON MAKING A FEW SLIGHT CHANGES TO EXHAUST, WHEELS, AND ALTERNATOR. SHE HAS THE 401 CUBIC INCH WILDCAT 445 SERIES V8 ENGINE THAT IS IN INCREDIBLE CONDITION. THE ENGINE HAS NEVER BEEN REBUILT AND RUNS SMOOTH. PURRS LIKE A KITTEN AND HAS HAS 146,000 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. THE PAINT JOB IS OUTSTANDING, IT IS PEARL WHITE. THERE ARE A FEW ELECTRICAL THINGS THAT I HAVE TO FIX SUCH AS THE CLOCK, AND A FEW INTERIOR LIGHTS. ALL THE POWER WINDOWS AND SEATS WORK, BUT THE WINDOWS SOMETIMES GET STUCK. SLIGHT RUST ON THE BUMPERS AND AROUND THE WINDOWS, BUT OTHER THAN THAT SHES SPOTLESS.

SOME OF THE MODIFICATIONS I PLAN ON DOING ARE CHANGING THE EXHAUST TO DUALS. I ALSO ORDERED SOME 14X7 CHROME WIRE KNOCKOFFS FOR HER. I PLAN ON ORDERING A 2 PUMP PROHOPPER HYDRAULIC KIT VERY SOON. WITH ALL THE TRUNK SPACE IN THIS BABY, U KNOW I HAD TO THROW A STEREO IN THERE. SO HERES WHAT I GOT. 1ST I BOUGHT 2 BATTERIES, 1 OPTIMA REDTOP, AND 1 OPTIMA YELLOWTOP. I THEN BOUGHT A CLARION CD PLAYER, BUT I HAVE TO FIND SOMEWHERE ON THE DASH TO MOUNT IT SO THAT I DONT HAVE TO CUT OR DAMAGE THE ORIGNAL DASH. I AM UNCERTAIN WHETHER OR NOT IF I WILL ADD 1 OR 2 COMPONENT SETS, BECAUSE I CAN NOT FIND PLACES TO MOUNT THEM. IN THE BACK, THERE IS THE ORIGINAL SPEAKER UNDER THE BACK SEAT PANEL, I PLAN ON GETTING 4 6X9S WITH AN ENCLOSURE FOR EACH TO SIT UP ON THE BACK SEAT PANEL. THE 6X9S AND COMPONENTS WILL BE RAN BY A CROSSFIRE TEK50.4 IN THE TRUNK WILL BE 1 12 INCH JUGGERNAUT SUB IN A CUSTOM 3 CUBIC FEET ENCLOSURE. IT WILL BE RAN BY 2 CROSSFIRE BMF 1000D AMPS.

THIS MAY BE A PROBLEM, BECAUSE THE TRUNK IS SEALED OFF AND IT MAY NOT SOUND GOOD IN THE CAR. ALSO, WITH HYDRAULIC PUMPS BACK THERE, I MAY NEED TO MODIFY THE TRUNK.
