The band started out in 1989 with Naill Quinn as the lead singer under the name The Cranberry Saw Us. But Quinn eventually quit and the band set out to find a new singer.That's when they heard of Dolores through Quinn. After Mike, Fergal, and Noel heard her sing she was immediately a memeber of the band. Then they shortened their name to The Cranberries. Later that year in September the band played their first gig together in a club called "Ruby" in Limerick.They did six of their original songs. The next year they signed with Island Records and released and EP called Uncertain which didn't sell very well. They didn't give up and with the help of Stephen Street they produced their first album, Everybody Else is Doing it so Why Can't We?. and you should know the rest.
