William Ratliff

William was born Abt. 1834 in Sunrise, Back Creek, Bath Co, Va., and died December 25, 1917 in Haleville, Lewis County, West VA. He married ELIZABETH CATHERINE GAY February 04, 1868 in Lewis County, W.VA, daughter of ANDREW GAY and MARTHA KNOWLDEN. She was born August 13, 1845 in Lewis Co, (W) Va., and died February 16, 1936 in Lewis County, W. Va..

William Ratliff, Served with the Bath County Greys, the 25th Va. Inf, and the 18th Va. Cavalry. Captured in November 1863, and served in POW camps in Ohio, and West Virginia, and finally released from POW camp in Delaware after signing oath of allegiance in June 1865.
Farmer, dark complextion, dark hair, 5'10".
