Exploring the Wilds of Pennsylvania and Western NY
Click photo, or here to see Upcoming and previous trip reports
We are a group of environmentally conscious explorers interested in trips that
might include, but not limited to: caving, hiking, backpacking, camping,
mountain biking, canoing, kayaking, rafting, tubing, rock exploring, rock climbing,
rappelling, swimming, sunbathing, snorkeling, winter camping, orienteering,
bird watching, X-Country skiing and Geocaching in the Allegheny National Forest & Allegany
State Park Areas.
Our trips center around Bradford in McKean County Pennsylvania, but often venture into the surrounding counties in Western New York and Western Pennsylvania.
Like-minded, "environmentally friendly" individuals are welcome on all our trips.
Our goal is to leave no trace and to leave the trails and sites better
than we found them, often carrying out litter, and removing branches, limbs and/or trees from the trails we hike.
We often try to car-pool to save gas, and this year we will be planning a bunch of closer destinations. Also new this year, we will be doing more cycle trips. Both road bikes and mountain bikes and I encourage everybody to ride their bikes to local, close-by hikes.
We often guide hikes for different colleges and environmental groups.
You will find info on our upcoming trips and you can read a trip report and view photos on recent trips on the "Upcoming and Recent Trips" page .
We tend to hike the more remote, less visited attractions. "off the beaten path" if you will. Many of the "best spots" are well kept secrets. Our trips are often "weather sensitive" and we may change or make last minute plans.
