The Stoneman Nude Guitar and Nude Bass!

This is a new Stoneman Custom Nude Bass Guitar. What can I say ... If a picture is worth a thousand words ... Feast your eyes on this!

Where do I begin to describe this bass? Do you play BOTTOM? Than this bass is for you! It's got a Bottom!

It's BODY is an actual BODY!

It's a three-dimentional, anatomically correct (or as close as you can get a Bass Guitar) bass. It's a little thicker than most instruments.

It's a full 3" thick, where most Fender style Bass Guitars are 1 3/4" thick. I built it out of a light mahogony so that it's not killer heavy. It weighs 10 1/2 lbs ... so it is heavier than most Gibson Les Pauls!

Amazingly because of the design and where I placed the strap buttons (it comes with Schaller Strap Locks) ... It ballances quite well on a strap and on your lap ... unlike a lot of Fender Precission and Fender Jazz Basses!

It's got a nice small peghead, and the strings go straight through the nut (real bone nut) so as to minimize tuning problems. It's also got chrome (as is all the hardware) tuners. They are Grover Mini Bass Tuners.

It's got a hot "P" style pickup and wired passive with a volume and a tone ... I gotta say, the sound of this bass really suprized me! It's got killer sustain, and a real nice full range sound ... lot's of balls (pun intended) ... NO, NO BALLS! But it does have an authentic real-life looking belly button!:

This is a very special bass for a special bass player! It DOES get noticed! I made the neck a little narrow. It's got a standard Fender P style OEM bridge, so that the string spacing at the nut and the bridge is "Standard Fender", BUT the taper of the neck is different, so the higher register is narrower than a Fender. The profile of the neck is more like a Rickenbacher. The contour of the back of the neck is real nice and comfortable.

What else can I say? This bass took a long time to build! This is the second "n*de" instrument I built. The first was a guitar That was sold to Andre Fox of the George Clinton Band, "P-Funk".
