C/L NAVY CARRIER

What, exactly, is Control Line Navy Carrier? Control Line Navy Carrier flying is aeromodelling's competition version of full size naval air operations! Although different contest classes in different countries have variations in rules, all classes require that models of naval aircraft must take off from a miniature aircraft carrier, first execute a maximum speed run equivalent to combat interception, then a minimum speed run equivalent to endurance patrolling and finally make an arrested landing back on the carrier, all without ditching in the surrounding 'water'. Flight scores are a function of the difference between high and low speeds, landing scores are a function of touchdown and hookup accuracy, and models can also be awarded bonus points for scale realism and paintwork. Dependent on competition class requirements, control line Carrier aircraft can range from simple slow flying semi-scale naval lookalikes to highly complex high speed full scale multi-function models. All types are, however, fitted with a speed control system to enable the full speed range to be flown, together with the necessary arrester hook without which landings back on deck cannot be made written by uk carrier @www.cheffers.co.uk/carrier.html Free Stuff: Balsa Weight Calculator thanks to http://pwp.starnetinc.com/clflyer
