Here is a picture of our semi-regular visitors! This is a Mama Black Bear and her FOUR cubs! A conservation officer told us that having 4 cubs is rare, but he has seen it before.
The bears have really been on the move this year because of the drought. They are really searching for food. It must be hard for this Mama to take care of these four babies. Sometimes when there are this many cubs they don't all survive...best of luck to her.
Here is a picture of a monarch catepillar that we saw one day while taking a walk in the woods. Next year we plan to plant a butterfly garden and possibly raise some monarchs to maturity. Click here to see more pictures of the wildlife. Home
