Here it comes, the mark of what?

http://www.thewinds.org/archive/government/idcard6-97.html

"this idea of national ID cards first surfaced in a Reagan Administration cabinet meeting in 1981. Then Attorney General William French Smith argued that a perfectly harmless ID card would be necessary to reduce illegal immigration. A second cabinet member asked why not tattoo a number on each American's forearm. According to Martin Anderson, the White House domestic policy advisor at that time, Reagan blurted out, 'My god, that's the mark of the beast.' Anderson reports 'that was the end of the national ID card' during the Reagan years. But bad ideas never die in Washington, they wait for another day." (U.S. House of Rep. Subcommittee on Immigration).

That day arrived last September when the president signed the bill containing the obscure passage which creates the ID system. In title IV, section 656(b) the legislation contains all the elements necessary to convert your state driver's license into a national ID card. It specifies guidelines that must be complied with for state identification documents (driver's licenses) to be used as identification for ANY federal purpose Licenses must comply in format to federal regulations. They must have the Social Security number either visible or machine readable.

The future has arrived thewinds.org Written 6/23/97

Heed the warning whether it be from a religious base or a secular base the lesson will be the most important one you learn.

The lessen inherent in the Mark of the Beast is very clear. You with a national ID will not be YOU. You will be turning your self over to someone else. This is frowned upon by God. Thou shalt not have false gods before me. Your independence as a person will be turned over to the government. This is frowned upon by all liberty loving thinkers. It will be up to you to prove that you are a citizen. Learn why a NATIONAL ID CARD would affect your very nature.

If we stand united, united against those who want to diminish our rights and freedoms, and don't accept this travesty upon us, we will persevere with essential liberty intact. Stand together, do not fall for the false solution to the September 11 tragedy, please.

Remember this, as the date September 11, 2001 loomed, the CIA AND THE FBI had two names of hijackers, yet, they did not get them at the border before they came into the country, they did not stop them at the airport gate upon arrival in this country, and they did not catch them at the airline ticket counter or upon showing a boarding pass with those names on the pass. No bells and whistles went off when the two names were on passports, when the two names went through the baggage area, if there was any checked baggage, or when the two names boarded the plane!!

If we all had national ids on September 11, 2001 the hijackers would still have gained entry into this country prior to that date. They obtained documents either fraudulently, stole documents and ids in another country, or they slipped into the country along with millions upon millions of other illegal aliens. Had every US citizen had a national id card with fingerprints, retina imprints, and social security numbers, the terrorists would have had guess what, had them, too. They would have stolen national ids with fake other necessary documentation. For the future, even with national ids for we, the people, the citizens, all potential hijackers would have to do is STEAL A FEW OF THEM! Or all they would have to do is go around the border patrol! Or all they would have had to do was get fake id in ANOTHER COUNTRY! Meanwhile, the citizens of this country would be barred from their right to travel, their right to barter, their right to potential employment and schooling, for what? Nothing. Beware. Send a two thumbs down to your federal representatives and senators.

The Con-Gress already ok'd the Real ID for all of us, meanwhile, they still are not protecting our border with Mexico from illegal aliens entering this country. Go figure... and they still are not ensuring that every bag that goes through airport security checks is adequately screened for explosives. The fact that the air marshals who shot and killed a passenger, believing someone could make it through customs and airport security checks with explosives and detonators undetected reveals how inadequate the national air security program remains. None of the identification measures will matter if a bag containing undetected material makes its way onto a plane either in a person/s' carry-on bags or in the cargo departments.

Public may favor a national ID card The White House has ruled out creating a national identity card system as a counterterrorism measure

BUSH CONTEMPLATES NATIONAL ID CARD FOR ALL CITIZENS

Civil libertarians expect renewed calls for a national identification card. The cards could have photographs and hard-to-falsify identifying information like handprint or retina data that could be read by scanners at, say, airline counters. If cards were required for many common transactions—renting a car, buying an airline ticket—they would be useful for keeping track of criminals and terrorists. Or you. Eva Jefferson Paterson, executive director of the Lawyers' Committee on Civil Rights Under Law in San Francisco, predicts that innocent citizens would be challenged constantly to produce their cards. "You could be stopped by the police to prove you can walk down the street," she says. "Poor people and people of color would be stopped the most."

Terrorizing Ourselves

From now on, tighter security is the rule. But how much of our freedom will we sacrifice?
