I never thought I'd say goodbye
I never thought I'd have feelings like I could die
I never wanted to end my life
I never wanted to be part of such strife

I never thought drugs could make you as high as the birds
I never thought I'd come crashing down
I never thought I'd stop smiling only to frown
I never wished for this end
I never wished to lose my friend
I never hoped you would die
I never wanted you to hear me cry
