MTV Music Generator

This game is one fascinating game. This game caught my eye and I decided to buy it before even reading any reviews because when the package said I could generate my own music, boy did it tweek my imagination. First, this game made me think of Mario Paint when you were first able to design your own music. But this has way more to it. The way of the design can be hard at first but once you work with it, it becomes much easier to understand. This is nothing that a professional would likely get into but for those that just want to experience making there own songs this can be a fun experience. The first thing to learn is using and mixing riffs togethor to make the songs. At first I thought it wouldn't sound easy but boy did it blow me away on how it flowed. The music can grab you and thats when your imagination flares up.
The second thing that isn't as superb as the music itself, but can be fun at times, is creating music videos. The videos are created just like the music but it doesn't catch on to you as much as the music. The way the videos are made make you think of the 70's. These are not videos you would ever catch on MTV. This is something you make after you have created the music.
Probably the best and the worst feature of the game is the sampling of any of your own audio CDs. It seems great to be able to take a sample from any CD and add to your own song but the worst part is not being able to add to many riffs. The samples take up way to much memory and its a little hard to make a complete song with only a few riffs to add. I love the idea but it seems wasteless to add this if it will take up to much memory.
MTV Music Generator is a great title and can become very addictive. If you are a professional then this isn't for you, but if you would like to experience making your own music then this is something you will enjoy.
